This Bill would set energy efficiency and energy usage targets for different sectors of the economy, to be achieved by 2020. It would also set a target of 20 per cent of electricity to be generated from renewables by 2020, together with targets for microgeneration and combined heat and power generation.

This Bill would set legally binding targets for energy efficiency and energy use across different sectors of the economy to be reached by 2020. It would also require 20% of electricity to be generated from renewable sources by 2020, with additional targets for microgeneration (small-scale generation) and for combined heat and power (CHP).
