A Bill to require the holding of a referendum on the Treaty of Lisbon and to require the repeal of the European Union (Amendment) Act 2008 if the decision to ratify is not approved in the referendum; and for connected purposes.
House of Commons
13 April 2010
This Bill would require the UK to hold a nationwide referendum on the Treaty of Lisbon. If the referendum does not approve ratification, the Bill would require repeal of the European Union (Amendment) Act 2008 and it also sets out related provisions to govern how ratification should proceed.
The Bill is currently at its second reading in the House of Commons. If it advances, it would move to committee stage, then further readings, before possible passage to the House of Lords.
