A Bill to require the Secretary of State to review and report to Parliament annually on the support provided to armed forces veterans across the United Kingdom in respect of access to health services, access to welfare schemes and access to other support; and for connected purposes.
House of Commons
26 October 2010
The bill would require the Secretary of State to carry out an annual review of the support available to UK veterans in relation to health services, welfare schemes and other forms of assistance, and to report the findings to Parliament each year. This aims to increase transparency and accountability for how veterans are supported across the UK.
Currently at the second reading in the House of Commons. If it progresses, it would move to committee stage for detailed scrutiny, followed by report stage, third reading, and then consideration by the Lords.
