A Bill to provide immunity from prosecution or civil action for persons who have removed or attempted to remove snow from public places; and for connected purposes.
House of Commons
1 May 2012
The Snow Clearance Bill would provide legal protection from criminal charges or civil lawsuits for people who remove snow from public places, and also for those who attempt to do so. It is designed to encourage voluntary snow clearance to help keep streets and pavements safer, while leaving other parts of the law unchanged.
The bill is currently at the second reading in the House of Commons, so it is in the early stages of debate before moving to committee stage if approved.
