The Special Urban Development Zones Bill would require the Secretary of State to create zones aimed at accelerating urban redevelopment. It sets out the criteria for designating zones, including whether an area has Housing Market Renewal Initiative status and whether it is in an area of multiple deprivation. The bill also provides for related purposes to support housing and urban development within those zones.
